Same here, where in the Philippines do you reside now? I'm from Makati City.

Well not that many regulars on this board to start with. It seems that many of the regulars are either Western expats or Filipinos.

And many don't really speak English, or surf English-language forums and websites. From my experience, even Japanese who travel abroad regularly tend to stick to their own groups, read Japanese-language tourist guide books, and even eat Japanese food whenever they can find it!

Oddly, I haven't been called upon for any services and I have to extend my green card next year. I've thought about becoming a US citizen but more or less these days, I've lost all interest in it. I'm a permanent resident of the United States, basically the same civic liberties except I cant vote. I could just change that though, if I ever do plan on applying for citizenship. The United States is realistically all I know, I've lived here for 20 of my 22 years of life starting before I even turned 1 year of age.

My parents have been between the United States & overseas all their life. My father was actually born and raised in the New York/New Jersey area, while my mother was born in India but became a citizen before I was born. My father was on a IT project in Singapore when I was born, I was out of the country long before I turned 1 and in the United States where I've grown up all my life (with 2 years in India: age 3 to 5).

At the present moment my plan is to retire in the western United States (in either Denver, Tucson, Seattle, or San Diego any of these would be ideal) but I am indeed looking to living overseas between age 35-45 but will eventually come back to the United States.
Wait, your Dad was born in the US and remains a US citizen and your Mom is also a naturilized US citizen, doesn't that make you automatically a US citizen as a child. Similar to Mitt Romney's father, George Romney, who ran for US President. George Romney was born in Mexico to parents who were born in Utah, so that made him eligible to run for president.

The Constitution does not define the phrase natural-born citizen, and various opinions have been offered over time regarding its precise meaning. A 2011 Congressional Research Service report stated:

The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term "natural born" citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship "by birth" or "at birth", either by being born "in" the United States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship "at birth". Such term, however, would not include a person who was not a U.S. citizen by birth or at birth, and who was thus born an "alien" required to go through the legal process of "naturalization" to become a U.S. citizen.

I was born and raised in Australia. My parents are Cambodians of Chinese descent. We're ethnically Chinese though.
