yeah, they're so low key that they dont tell you that they have Chinese ancestry, so you call them "ethinc Visayans" Yes, they're every bit as Visayan as you are, but don't claim that they cant possibly have Chinese ancestry, especially when they look like they do.
again we may not know if your an EA looking visayan if you have chinese ancestry or not....
its possible they may or may not have.....again in visayas it overlaps sometimes
whats ironic is southern luzon people are the ones who like to boast they are chinese descent and that visayans are inferior
manilenos even claim igorots were black....even though most of these manilenos boasting to have chinese ancestry looked negrito
How many Chinese Filipinos can speak a Chinese language? I imagine the majority speak Tagalog or a Filipino language as their main one, but may speak another language as well? How many don't know any Chinese language?
I find it in interesting how the Chinese in some Asian countries haven't integrated as much compared to Western countries. The Philippines seems better than Malaysia in this respect though.
most chinese in the Philippines send their kids to chinese schools

True, but dont claim that the typical native Visayan looks East Asian when they dont. And dont act like you know that those people dont have Chinese ancestry. Even 1/16th (equivalent of a full Chinese great great grandparent) can make someone look East Asian, and that person isn't going to identify with 1/16th of their ancestry.
And you havent posted a pic of a Manila group that looks Melanesian...

From the information given to me by a Filipino Chinese in this forum (since he doesn't want to reveal himself that way), the older generations tend to speak Hokkien (the predominant dialect among the Fil-Chi), the middle gen speaks a mix of English, Filipino, and Hokkien/Chinese, while the younger tends to speak English and Filipino. Most would speak English as a first language and Filipino with the non-Chinese.

again east asian phenotype is not absent amongst native visayans
lol now your the one assuming....even you dont know the whole truth...so dont assume a native visayan cant look East Asian..considering many native visayans have ancestry in borneo where EA looking people exist
again someone who is 1/16th chinese has a very low chance of even looking remotely chinese let alone looking EA as a whole...one would need genes coming from the non-chinese side to even come to that conclusion
if we were talking about a negrito not being able to pass for EA i would believe you...but a native visayan being able to pass for EA is plausible...much more plausible then a melanesian from manila being able to pass for anything other then a melanesian hybrid

The Chinese-Filipino community is really old though, isn't it? I guess it's been replenished over time by more traders? Is it older in general than the Malaysian Chinese diaspora? Chinese mestizos might be culturally akin to Peranakan.
lol Smtchl is so ignorant he would probably claim someone who is half korean and half visayan but looks korean would be a chinese...he would totally deny the visayan and korean and just say chinese

You call me ignorant yet you're trying to convince us that the typical Visayan looks like this
and the typical Manila person looks like this
If it were that drastic of a difference then you wouldnt be the only person on the internet who has noticed it, but you are
