Let me join. That was approved by the president just last 2 weeks ago. the one that they are yet to approve now is the train that would link the airport and the CBD area.

Until when you have the luxury of exporting your natural resources? when your mountains are gone? that's kinda sad.. it is supposed to be for your people than selling it abroad.

The difference/hindrance of our 2 cities or countries would be the culture. we enjoy that we do business with west and US with our english language skill, and we as predominantly catholic nation makes us closer to the west and more liberated / open minded in a way than Indonesia or Jakarta. Most of the Filipinos have relatives in the States and Europe. People to people wise I guess we got the advantage. Though we were slowed by the corrupt previous president. While Indonesia enjoys the abundant natural resources and link to muslim gulf region than ours. Don't get me wrong, just trying to give some of my observations.
No offense but there is nothing big about being the world's call center, while in the Philippines you must have a degree, in UK they simply hire any migrants with required skill of English language. While we rely on mineral export (and also lots of other industry), we already banned mineral ore export and requires people to process the ore locally if they want to continue their business. China didn't say much and built a smelter right away, the US' freeport says otherwise lol, but according to the news they're goint to build a smelter in Irian Jaya.

We already have a huge KRL suburban rail that extend to the Jabodetabek metropolitan area, so even if we lack metro system we already have transportation that covers even more extensive area than its neighboring country's metro or train. We also have busway system which is also very extensive system, you can pretty much get anywhere with it, but it lacked one thing that is "integrated public transport"

Jakartans in general are open minded, there is some radical non-sense mainly from the migrants and unemployed, but in general the nightclubs and pubs are still going at it. Indonesia's Muslims are in general much more tolerant than the many other Muslim country, there are no restriction on what Muslims must or can do. And the country in general are much more peaceful and politically stable than Philippines.

WRONG. You just need to be a highschool graduate to be a call center agent in the Philippines. The main requirement is having a good command of the English language. You know, being able to express yourself in English, carry out a conversation with a native speaker.

Yes but the stiff job competition in the Philippines makes it tough for people to get the job right? there's still nothing special about being the world's call center capital.

Actually the call center industry in the Philippines is not tough to get in. If anything, they do mass hirings everyday. There are lots of accounts to fill in some are having a shortage of agents.

I'm not saying it's special though, but if it brings in the money then why not?
