Though I guess local furniture makers here are a lot like: Global Designer Kenneth Cobonpue of Cebu who once supplied Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's furniture, and Hollywoods furniture supplier would give IKEA a run for their money
Two of the biggest Swedish stores in the world are Ikea and H&M. H&M is globally as big as Zara, I don't think we already have it in the Philippines.
Ikea is the biggest furniture store in the world ( also sells almost everything for the house ). It is present in 43 countries in all continents. What makes these stores very popular is that these stores cater to the middle working class. Swedish products are affordable but sturdy.
For 2013, Indonesia received 10.1 billion dollars in tourism receipt and the Phils 4.4 billion dollars. Try googling first.
That's good for Indonesia. However though, if you divide that to the number of inhabitants, Wow! A single Pinoy will pocket more than a single indonesian.

The question is, do we really need those when there are lot more stores already selling the same? Just a plain question sir.
Yes no argument on the position of your country so far. Impressive i say to that
But take a look at this:
BPO sectors in the Ph, as considered permanent industry would hit usd 25B by 2016. What about that?
I don't know if have this kind of other revenue factor.
Also, This one is very exciting, it will challenge your position soon in the FDI areas that your country is enjoying so far.
The amendment of Philippine FDI policy soon, to further attract Direct FDI and a much relax policies..
Remember Ph has enough labor force, cheap labor as well, natural resources, and best among everything the english communication skills that pinoys have.
yes i did. probably you have more store branches but almost of those brands we got here as well.
also Let me ask about casinos? How about there?
these people are the also the bulk buyers of those brands you referred to..
casinos are booming in m. manila, as those tycoon gamblers envisioned Bay area of M.Manila to be next to macau.
Gamblings is haram in Islam, so casino won't likely to open up in the country, as for the listing try to go through the tag "luxury brands" which we got like 50s more premium brands available than philippines in that matter.

Understandably, Religion also plays an important role in the economy. Indonesia could have been bigger (with the entry of casinos) if not of the religion factor.

Yes we do. They sell affordable but sturdy things.
When my Mum came back to the Philippines from a holiday, she brought a whole big box of Ikea products. Ikea is just heaven for all the wives in the world.
That's perfectly right. The Philippines is undoubtedly the leader in SEA in this type of industry. This surely fill in the low FDI.
Gotcha Senor!
Think of these, If we get the bulk of Canada's requirements and the Majority of IT outsourcing needs of US...
Plus the growing demand for Spanish BPO these days in Ayala.. I guess it would even surpass that USD 25B.
