Its narrowed down to: Greenbelt 4, Shangrila Plaza, Powerplant Mall, Resort world mall (although this one is very small). If it doesn't have those labelled as "luxury" then its just another mall.

In Jakarta these are the big 5 are: Plaza Senayan, Senayan City, Grand Indonesia, Pacific Place and the Plaza Indonesia.

In Surabaya only Ciputra World Surabaya and Grand City Surabaya i would consider upscale, in Bandung there is Transtudio mall although it barely have luxury designer brand.
Check it on the ayala land.com websites, or even google it. it's all luxury malls with signature brands of all you've mentioned plus restaurants and cinemas. that's the malls set up in the philippines, that why i said before "concept mall". not the H.K. type of that all clothes in one building or even in Bangkok per se. Here the concept is you shop, dine, watch movies.. complete one stop shop in one mall. that's why.

But no worries, regarding your signature brand concerns, it's there.

Yes I can update u, problem is people here might get irritated with picture spamming.

Let me define again, "concept malls"

Ayala Malls usually concentrate on signature clothes, fine dinning, and some euro performance arts, that's why got several museums integrated to their malls.

SM Premium Malls are much more on American style, signature young fashion, american branded fastfood, and modern cinemas.

Robinsons are mixed of those 2 above.

While Century Properties more one hollywood concepts.shopping then condos beside.

Others are niche in style like silver auto mall - cars, accessories, exhibit, racing, restaurants.

Gateway Mall - Restaurants plus sports arena beside Araneta Coliseum.

Powerplant Mall - Gatsby aura, Siesta atmosphere more on signature clothes, coffee and BOOKS.

If you've been to the US, at least the California areas you would appreciate whose concepts that I'm telling here. Okay, that's it for now til next time.

Why are we talking about "concept mall" or "american style malls" (all malls are american influence by right anyway), im talking about the "designer branded" goods not concept style malls with a hallway full of the common store the like of topman, zara, mango or pull&bear fgs. Anyway if it doesn't have gucci, dior, mulberry, rolex or any ultra expensive stores, its not luxury mall in my definition or others who will agree with me. It doesn't matter whether it has cinema or unhealthy fastfood chains or none either (because even lower-medium end mall tend to have cinema as well)

Why expensive always pertain to clothes?

What if I go to Le souffle resto and eat with my friends then we spent 3,000USD? then we go hooters.
or I go to Silver AutoMall I bought an accessories of my Hummer 3 worth 20,00oUSD?
Or I go to SM MOA SMX to watch a piano concerts then the ticket is 500USD then after that
we would go to ice skating ring. All of those are part of shopping right? that would surpass the prices of those branded clothes and watches.

Now if you really just focus on clothes, all those malls i've posted have those, but in some of those it's usually assorted / mix with restos... not all clothes.

Then again AYALA MALLS in MAKATI, TAGUIG, Trinoma, ALABANG, RUSTAn's, Powerplant, century malls, eastwood, podium are much more focus on very precious clothes...

And I'm talking to cinema as IMAX a at least. not the usual ordinary.

Whatever argument is going on now, I actually am more than happy to know that my country, Philippines is progressing and not regressing as everyone seems to think, including me.

I honestly can't wait to visit it or just go home and never leave again! There really is no place like home. Can't believe there are casinos there now too and just sooo many places to go.

Strong brand names? reliability? prestige?.... well apart from that there are watches and jewelries of course or supercars. As i said it won't be luxurious malls without global luxury designer brand store that sells items:P if we use your definition i could list so many shopping malls here now. Anyway you got the size with less international boutique, we got the selection of the store, that's the end of it.

So success for you is being able to buy BRANDED names? I myself don't like brand names because we ALL know we pay for the freaking name and NOT the quality of the clothes which we all KNOW are ALL made in China! Not even kidding whenever me and my husband go to stores, we have a running joke to see where it is made.

And it is ALLLLLL made in china. It is freaking unbelievable. No wonder China is the new sh-it. And honestly that's what I want my country to be next........

Manufacture all those branded names in the Philippines. So we will be the new China.

In fact I will make a bet - look at your hermes, or gucci or whatever brand clothes you have look where it is made -

I will bet you 100 pesos it is made in china! LOOOOOOL!

Actually I will bet you $10,000 look at your Ipod, open it and look where the battery is made - it is made in the PHILIPPINES!!!

I know, coz I saw it myself. I actually was elated to know a part of Ipod is made in my country!!
