Thank you Roger for suggesting India. I need to learn more about India too, I am sure there are many wonderful temples in South India and other areas!

Susu, I'm interested in visiting temples of all kinds, but mainly Theraveda and Hindu. I really like the ancient temple ruin appearance (like Angkor Wat or Borobudur) as opposed to the shiny and new temples.
yeah I think India has more nice temples. the origin of the Hinduism

Never forget the Buddhist/Hindu influence from India throughout Southeast Asia. Most of those temples you see around there like Angkor Wat are Hindu/Buddhist in nature.

You can try Seda, China too. Not splendid but very special place for Tibetan Buddhism.

One that hasn't been mentioned is Sri Lanka. Less visited than the others, Sri Lanka actually has some of the oldest Buddhist stupas/temples in the world. Anuradhapura, for instances, a 4th-10th century BC capital, has some stupas that are over 2,000 years old. The whole country is fascinating, it has some of the purest Buddhist monuments in the world.
