Most middle class to upper middle class has less children compare to the poor. I think one of the reasons too is because the poor do not have other recreations or things that will keep their minds busy, all they think about is intimacy.
Because the Catholic church in the Philippines campaigns so much against birth control that some areas will not even distribute the free anti-AIDS condoms donated from elsewhere due to fear of church backlash. And you can actually meet teenagers who got pregnant because they said that using condoms is against the teachings of the church. Why did they forget that pre-marital sex is against the teachings of the church too? Perhaps because the priests mention the "evils" of birth control many more times than pre-marital sex. They do need to change their priorities.

The Church as well as schools ( since majority of the schools are run by Nuns ) always say that Pre Marital sex is wrong as sex should only be for married couples. I believe it should be the Parents more than anyone else who should guide their children to make sure they don't engage in Pre Marital Sex at an early age.

Right, but nevermind that doesn't work at all.

The majority of the private schools in the Philippines may be Catholic but the majority of the population attend public schools. Ironically, the Catholic church will not provide tuition to the poor who cannot afford Catholic private schools and have so many children, which the church encouraged them to have. Sometimes, due to the conservatism of the populace, the parents don't say anything to teenagers about the birds and the bees until it's too late. IMHO, the Catholic church presents information like this: Birth control is so evil that everyone should not use them, while married couples can have sex, but still not use birth control. Guess what kind of interpretations teenagers who are studying in public schools make of that type of presentation. Seriously, the Catholic church in the Philippines is just being ultra-conservative and face up to the realities. They are putting their flock in idealistic/unrealistic standards if they condemn married couples who use artificial birth control methods.

Phiippines is not the same as other countries that only rich people go to Catholic Schools. There are also so many poor people who send their kids to Catholic Schools.
Public School on the other hand still have Religion subject.
Parents, aside from talking to their children should also guard them more. A friend of mine has a 16 year old girl and her father drives her to school everyday and picks her up everyday too. Whenever she goes to the movies, her father picks her up right away after the movie ends. Parents should just be more protective of their teens as there are so many pressures these days.
