no, most HK people that are under 40 like Japanese more than Mainland Chinese. I'm from HK.
There are a lot of hate on Mainland Chinese right now. They don't want Mainland Chinese to have baby in HK hospitals, don't want those children to go to HK schools, don't want them to buy baby milk powders in HK then export back to China. They even make new law prevent them to do that.

From my experience the younger generations of HKers have little to no animosity towards Japan at all. I have visited HK many times to visit my relatives and from what I've seen Japanese culture is very popular. Japanese restaurants have long lines, toy stores are filled to the brim with Japanese products (gundam, rilakkuma, doraemon, etc), there are Japanese dramas on TV, and I always see school children playing on DS/PSP handhelds. HKers may have gotten slightly more nationalistic/ethnocentric since the handover but overall still not nearly to the same extent as mainland Chinese.

In 2019, Many HK young people don't like China but most have Chinese nationality, just different passports. Like or not, All HK people know HK is now part of China.

There is a comfort woman statue in HK, also in other countries.

Also, not most of Asia dislikes the Japanese.
Southeast Asian countries are less anti Japan than Korea and China.

Only 3 Queens of Not-Letting-Go in the world dislike Japan: China, South Korea, and North Korea.

It's easily one of the most popular countries in the world. HKers, like all others, hold no animosity towards Japan.

This guy who knows Taiwan well but not other places in Asia seems to be very sure there were no anti Japan protests in the past 10 years in HK.
