That doesn't happen in other countries.

So you should know that it's a pretty normal thing in China... Or because it is normal, you don't get to notice it any more. Foreigners always notice it because it is very unusual.

3 years to meet 1 billion something people spread over almost 10 million square kilometers is pretty difficult.

I am not going to argue with you any more but if you are a Chinese from the mainland, you should already know it is a culture to cut line... Something so noticeable and unacceptable for foreigners.

I have never been to China, but I have noticed that with them here in North America. I noticed it more among Koreans though, rudest people i have ever come across.

I worked in Shanghai and in Seoul for about 2 years. The Chinese are worse for cutting in line but Koreans are less friendly in my experience. I'm 6'6" (1.98 M) and 220 lbs (100 KGs) and work out regularly (about 3 times stronger than almost any Korean lifting weights in the gym) and I just wondered why so many Koreans would go out of their way to walk in front of me to try to force me off the path I was on...like they didn't even see me an I was invisible to them. Sometimes I would decide not to veer and just bounce them off of me. I would also sometimes cut in line in front of them (Chinese or Koreans) to see their reaction...no one ever said anything to me but they looked at me with daggers a few times.

One time at our work cafeteria, a Chinese guy jumped in line in front of me and I said "What you just did can get you killed in my country."

My roommate is Chinese and he is totally a line cutter. I definitely know what the op is talking about. lol.

He explains it as that in a country of 1.3 billion people, if you don't cut you won't get anything done. There are just too many people to compete with.
