I've never had a difficult time travelling in Asia, with the exception of South Korea. Customer service is lousy, people ignore you, and they have attitude.
I worked in Seoul (Gangnam Gu) for a year and you are so right...my saying is that we saved S. Korea in 1953 and have been protecting them ever since....and they hate us for it.

Filipinos probably are the friendliest people in Asia. I worked in Mongolia and I thought the locals were very friendly there but some of my friends didn't feel that. seems to be a place that if you make a couple of Mongolian friends, then you're in but if 1 or 2 don't like you, best leave.

Then what are Indians ?
Just because they have caucasian features and do not look oriental doesn't mean they are not Asians.

Bahrainis are one of the friendly middle eastern so Bahrain is one of the friendly place in Middle East.
People always greet you 'How are you?'

The Friendliest is
-Philippines (With their Constant Smiling and greetings especially communicating with you in English)

Unfriendly:
-Japan and Korea (They judge heavily on skin color)

But remember, every country has their mean side, and you can't just judge a country by one person.

South Korea. Nationalistic? Yes, very nationalistic, but not of a xenophobic or offensive kind. They merely love getting together themselves. Racist? In a way. More precisely, they are just into themselves. Korean women wouldn't give a glance at white guys. But it does not mean they hate us. Unfriendly? Yes, but only on the surface. Stay there for a few weeks or months, you will love Koreans. For a few years, you will hate them. For more than five years, you will begin to love them. For more than ten years, you will want to be naturalized.
