It is not just the colour. Filipinos got exposed to Western people for 4 centuries. They developed an admiration for Western features ( deep seated eyes, well chiseled nose and sometimes a Cleft Chin) and it's not just all the media. They have already developed an admiration for Western look long before there was a media in the Philippines. It's just understandable as it was occupied by the West for 4 centuries and it is somehow true that we admire people that are a bit different from us right ?

How do you know they admired Western looks 400 years ago? Or anybody else, for that matter? I don't know if Western looks have always been admired. Many Asians saw them as 'white devils'. I'm sure some were curious about them, but it's hard to know how most of the locals at the time viewed them.

she probably has some Negrito ancestory

I noticed lots of white guys like the dark ones and call them "Black Beauties"

I agree most are more of a light to medium with straight black hair unless they are part negrito, then they could also have wavy hair or curly hair from negrito ancestory

I saw a man in Taiwan who looked full Chinese who had very curly/kinky hair - i assumed part aboriginal, but even aborigines don't have hair that curly (actually most aborigines have straight/wavy hair). I think there were negritos in Taiwan before the aborigines, but I'm guessing this was just an unusual genetic trait.

Yeah, her dad could pass as a Negrito because many of them are mixed and look like him. I'm surprised people weren't making a big deal about him being the "first black vice president"
