Yeah you're right. Wikipedia's numbers were off for the Visayas. When you add Central, Western, and Eastern Visayas, the population is around 17 million. The population of Metro Manila is around 12 million. But the NCR is essentially one city because it's more dense than most individual cities in the world, and no one thinks of Manila as just the city defined as Manila, it's the whole NCR. The Greater Manila Area is the true metro area, and that's about 21 million people in 4,800 sq km. Compared to 17 million people in 57,000 sq km. The point is that just because the Philippines is mostly rural doesn't mean that most people are living in the rural areas. A lot of people are clustered in urban areas. And you can't look at the bigger land area and assume there's a bigger population. The Visayas has a much bigger land area than Greater Manila, but less people.

It's funny that he counts Visayans in Mindanao when he wants to, but other times he excludes them. Like when people show pictures of Visayans in Mindanao, he says "oh they live in Mindanao, they're mixed, they dont count" But now he's using the number that includes them. Visayans in the Visayas are 17 million. There are more people in the area around Manila. So neither the Visayas or the Manila area is better or worse for representing Filipinos.
