Both old and new.

For me it was actually either the Royal Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, or the Summer Palace in Beijing. And Tiananmen Square if that counts. Surprisingly, I wasn't that blown away by the Forbidden City or Great Wall. The manmade lake at the Summer Palace blew me away. They're still in the top 5. Honourable mention also goes to the fortress at Lion Rock, Sigirya, and some of the high stupas in Sri Lanka.

The Fort at Jasailmer, Taj Mahal, the various giant Buddhas in Asia, Angkor Wat.etc would all be amazing.

As for some of the newer structures, I suppose skyscrapers like Taipei 101, Bank of China building in Hong Kong (my favourite building in HK) and the Petronas Twin Towers, as well as some of the huge malls.
