Thais are generally more business-like, money-oriented, bottom line money.
Filipinas have more emotions of love and romance and Disney families and such.
Also, Filipinas speak decent English, whereas Thais have a much harder time with English comparitively. Also, Filipinas are Catholic with everything that goes with that, whereas Thais are Buddhist. (Although both have some Islam in there as well, but a small minority in both countries - you probably wouldn't be meeting the Muslim ones anyways).
I wonder if it's because Thailand has more influence from China as well...I think Thailand being so touristy is probably more of a reason though. Of course, it's to be expected the level of English is much lower in Thailand.
In Phuket I remember hearing prayers from a mosque near the hotel where I was staying, but Islam doesn't really seem prominent on Phuket.
I define Hispanic as Spanish speaking. I know Hispanic is not a race, but most Filipinos do not have any European blood so why would the OP even compare the two?
Hispanic is a cultural term, and I think that Filipinos are culturally partially Hispanic. The fact that they dont speak Spanish is the main reason why they're not fully Hispanic. And how would you know what kind of ancestry most Filipinos have or dont have?

Brasilians are not hispanic because they don't practice Spanish culture, they are Lusofone.
Philippines is a member of Hispanidad notwithstanding not speaking Spanish any more because of culture and the 6,000 Spanish words in the Filipino vocabulary.
Until the 1930's, Filipinos could really be called Hispanic because they were still speaking Spanish. Now, they are just semi Hispanic.
A few factors first was about 80 years of GIS serving long tours in the Philippines leading to many war brides. Those wives served as matchmakers. When the first mail order agencies started getting notice they were focused on Asia and large number of English speakers with a compatible religion happened to be in the Philippines. Up to 10% of the adult population travel to foreign lands to send home money so growing up the option of leaving home and the extended family is not as foreign to Filipinos as others
Compared to Latin America, you had fewer GIs in the Canal Zone and the Blacks and Latinos from there are not as exotic nor do they stand out in America as foreign at a glance. The English skill level is not as high as in the Philippines. When the bride agencies started looking outside of Asia they first went to Eastern Europe to get the White ideal while the perceived violence level (political and drug related) and the unwanted Blacks cut the percentage of Latinos and their nations which were seen as potential wives. After all it is almost 2015 and you still have to search hard to find an agency bringing African women over as spouses, and the African men found are mostly North African Arabs.

This started with colonization and after WWII, a lot of GIs stationed there had relations with prostitutes. These guys went back home and the word spread that South East Asia was a beautiful tropical paradise with plenty of pretty Asian prostitutes..... And that sticks to this day which is why South Asia is a popular destination for sex tourism. Bottom line, it is really just exploitation. These economies are not as developed as 'the West' so unfortunately, in order to make money, a lot of women are willing to sell their bodies.

The sex industry however is localized and does not put the Asians in the face of "white" society as a whole. It is the brides which immigrate to other lands which do that. That the internet killed the bride agency as a big money maker is given, why pay much for what you can do by yourself? Just as the internet it has killed, magazines, recorded music porn as a path to easy riches doesn't mean that their ad copy does not exist. And those believing a 24 year old virgin awaiting to give them three children with pointier noses and lighter skin may be more of a lure then the outlaw, often a felony suspect in his home from taking the trip, looking to bar fine as many as he can on his 30 day visitor visa
