Link: 50 Chinese troops intrude into India

Quote:
Riding on horses and ponies, around 50 Chinese soldiers intruded into the Indian territory of Chumar in Ladakh on July 16 staking their claim over the area.
What's wrong with the Chinese provoking neighbors unnecessarily?

I think there might be something about Indian media.
In recent months, we have heard a lot of rape cases from India, but not so many before.
Is there any revolution of Indian media or something?

It's nothing but a show, but they should start capturing these guys and drop them off at the Chinese embassy. The reaction from the folks in Beijing should be priceless, lol .

India has two of the worst neighbors one could receive. It's a shame that geological realities prohibit detaching the place and taking it to the middle of the ocean.

Yeah but thing is India is a country that has been in alot more conflicts and they went 3-0 against Pakistan and the last time they fought was 1999 and they used heavy artillery and precision airstrikes during the Kargil War...

I mean China has not fought any major recent wars but man if the two clashed it would be at situation were both the U.S. and Russia would have to step in and deescalate it. since India China and Pakistan are all nuclear armed countries and it would be a regional conflict and both countries have pretty decent military's where we would have to use diplomacy too diffuse it.

India actually lost a small border war with China back in the 60s or 70s, but they have more recent operational experience in mountain warfare. It's hard to gauge what the Chinese military's operational capabilities really are since they haven't significantly participated in a major conflict since the 50s. However, discussing a possible military conflict between two major powers is rather moot since in today's global environment as the holistic cost of such conflicts would too be great to be worth the trouble.

All of this is besides the point that India would be much better off it didn't have two extremely cruddy neighbors.

A Pan-Asian Defense Pact will be the only way to counter Chinese political and military hegemony of Asia. An Asian Cold War would possibly be socially and politically invigorating if it didn't heat up into actual shooting and proxy wars; but alas, I doubt it would ever happen as Asians are rather insular and are more practical rather than ideological beings.

According to the Indian press, it's always China's fault. I wonder what the other side says.
