It extends beyond Koreans, as some have said. It seems Asian men in general are the least likely to marry outside of their race, and conversely Asian women the most likely of all races, speaking from an American perspective, but seems to hold true internationally. In America the same can be seen with African Americans, where are the least likely to date outside of their race, and the men the most likely.

I think both issues stem from the same root. There are simply not enough of the opposite sex to go around. In the US there are 2 AA women for every one man. It is well documented how the men outnumber the women during mating ages though out Asia. Even more pronounced when abroad. In S. Korea, between ages 15-54, there is a gulf of approximately 850K between men and women. Then all the men start killing themselves for going so many years without being laid and the women start to outnumber the men. I think, racism aside, one big reason is that any Korean woman with another man is one less Korean women for another Korean. Also, since they are less women (or less men in the AA scenario) when you get one it's prized, rather than having the mentality of there is not enough of them so let me go date outside my race. It gives them more incentive to marry a Korean because it's a scarcer commodity.

Believe it or not, White and Japanese men are still kind of viewed as invaders in Korea and China.

Some Koreans may have reservations against Americans due to past history. I have seen many mixed marriages between Koreans and people from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan.

We were watched by a group of Korean males and Unbeknownst to us, they complained to the bouncers that we were hitting on their "dates" and asked the bouncers to block us from entering the premise. We had a sense that these guys would physically confronted us in the club, had we gone inside with these ladies.

Long story short, we were not allowed to go inside since we were deemed as "trouble makers" and ended up at a college party (more socially acceptable for foreigners) with other expats with the similar experiences.
When I was at UT back in the 1990s, there was an asian party at the student union.
A white guy talked to an asian chick. An asian guy stabbed him with a plastic Wendy's knife.
From then on, we weren't allowed to have knives in the student union.

Lame.

People of ALL nations have some negative attitudes toward their women who prefer other men.
It does not apply to everyone but you can find that tendency everywhere.

It's not like white men didn't hang black men from trees for accidentally bumping into white women on the street.....

Men of all races are territorial and misogynistic when it comes to their women. We love to sample the goods in other ponds but get a little tense when "our" women want to do the same. I can respect an equal opportunity racist, even if I disagree with them. I'm not a big fan of selective racism (i.e., it's 'ok' to bring home a sub-par white guy but we'll disown you if you so much as look at a Latin or black man, even if they're a perfect 10).

It's hilarious how some people are trying to justify such backwards attitude by painting all countries in the same brush.

It's more hilarious when someone denies such a simple fact.
