The term "dissapointed" is subjective. I've landed at air fields that were essentially grazing fields for yaks, with no real terminal to speak of, just a lean-to type check in stand.
Airports range from the ultra-modern (Singapore, Hong Kong), to the outdated (Mumbai), to just chaos (Kathmandu domestic terminal). None of them were dissapointing per se, as I knew what to expect.

Hmmm perhaps i should've changed the topic to which airport that left you the worst impression?

I know this sounds weird but even modern airport can left people terrible impression. And personally i don't think Mumbai is that outdated compared to the many airports there.

I will have to agree with you on this. I never liked have to go through 2-3 security check points plus dirty terminal. However I have heard they have made some improvements in the last 2-3 years, mostly in the terminal where PAL flies out of.

None have really disappointed me, or left me with a bad impression. A lot are just pretty unimpressive/unremarkable but not bad per se.

As for me i would say Bali's old airport is the worst airport for me, its fairly clean however i hate the fact that the building is so small and outdated for a tourist heaven like Bali, the airport tax, and how people followed me offering to carry their bags for me.... But that was 3 years ago when they finally demolished the entire old domestic flight terminal building and built a new larger one. And now the new airport has opened, it looks pretty mindblowing.

Heathrow is worst airport for me globally. Well its London a fantastic city, but the airport is just urgh! terrible food, terrible environment because it look like a plain concrete box, the long queue....

Worldwide, I'd say LAX is the one that underwhelmed me the most, since i was expecting a lot more for such a big hub as LA. It was old, grey, with little inside it, and the officials were rude. American airports just don't stack up to Asian or European ones.

Perth's international airport is due for an expansion/modernisation too.

agree.
Most American airports look aged and sad, simply not stack up against East Asian ones. Can you even compare LAX to PVG?

I just completed an intense Asian trek that took me through ten Asian airports (assuming you separate LCCT in KL from KLIA). And I'd say LCCT was easily the worst. Even KLIA was a bit disappointing considering the immaculate image I held in my memory over all these years.
