_______ * Note *Come on folks, let's get back on topic and stay on topic and within the spirit of this thread - which is not up for arguments about stats or religion - but to offer our best wishes, prayers if we so choose, and helpful info and encouragement in the face of this disaster. Please ignore those that attempt to highjack it with their own agendas, and if you can't ignore it, then report it, just don't respond to it.

i tried to post a thread about how to help the victims, but the mods deleted it in view of it looking like an ad/solicitation or something.
and i won't respond to trolls anymore--provided the mods delete the original posts of those trolls too otherwise, if those posts are still there, it will provide fodder for other posters to feast on

That's not what happened, what did happen is that your previous thread post was merged into this one (see your post on page 2 of this thread) so there wouldn't be multiple threads on the same topic w/the same type info, something that is done whenever possible, I know, I am a former CD mod.
This is another way to donate money through Philippine Red Cross. Maybe, you know someone from the Philippines or some Filipinos here will pass by and read this. They can donate also through their pre-paid mobile for Globe and Smart telecom
You can text an amount 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 to 1000 Php
"Inmates at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa donated their personal belongings to help the victims of Typhoon Yolanda, which caused enormous destruction and killed thousands of people in the Visayas region,"
According to NBP Supt. Venancio Tesoro, the prisoners themselves initiated the idea. They have given their spare shirts, blankets, sandals, and noodles for relief efforts for thousands of families who are suffering because of the typhoon.
I am not sure what difference it makes about how strong the storm was in context but it was large enough to cause a massive loss of life, so why not let this topic get back to the disaster in the Philippines instead of the bickering since I have friends who have lost loved ones and many others died which surely seems much more important than trivia.
