It's a beautiful island. With a less corrupt government officials and potential investors, do you think it possible for the Philippines to become an exotic island vacation retreat?

No. Not like Hawaii.

But, there is some serious beauty in many of the Philippines islands. Some of them certainly are gorgeously beautiful.

But the Philippines has way over 120 million people plus....and it has 7000 islands. Whereas Hawaii has a very small handful of islands, has a ton of money (both from the US military and tourism), and puts a ton of that money into maintaining that gorgeousness.

I don't see any way that the Philippines could have that perfect combination to make it become 'another Hawaii'. However, maybe a few islands could resemble Hawaii, sort of, from a touristic point-of-view.

Lol, I wasn't aware the Philippines as A island...

No, and I don't like that phrase 'another Hawaii' it's so American centric. Everywhere is different and special, why always try to make it another 'version' of something? I've heard Hainan island called the 'Hawaii of Asia'...I mean the Phils definitely offer much of what Hawaii does, but it is, as TB said, a huge (population wise) country of over 100 million so nothing like the Hawaiian islands.

The Philippines does not allow foreign land ownership and the infrastructure leaves much to be desired. There are many beautiful islands in the Philippines but none of them will ever, well at least in my lifetime, become another Hawaii.

Hopefully not. The Philippines is already very Americanized, except without all the American tourists

Heavens forbid, no. Hawaii is one of the least productive and most indebted states in the US. Does not look like a good role model for the Philippines.
