Yeah Almeida is Portuguese. My family seems to have several Portuguese and French last names actually. I have no idea why. We are Mexican. There was very little Portuguese migration to Mexico, Most of it was Spanish and some French. That is why i created a thread asking from what parts of Spain did colonizers and settlers came from to Mexico. Because i know Galicia and Asturia seem to have some similarities with Portugal, maybe my ancestors came from there? But i have no idea, i know very little of Galicia and Asturia. Maybe my ancestry is fascinating, but there is little to follow.

I know and understand a little bit of Korean, Bahasa Indonesian/Malaysian, and the Filipino Languages.

I can understand a great deal of Arabic, the Filipino Languages, and the Romance languages. Arabic because a lot of Spanish words come from Arabic and the Filipino languages borrowed words from Spanish. Of the Romance languages, Portuguese and Galician are the closest to Spanish, though I understand better the Brazilian Portuguese. The Portuguese spoken in Europe and Africa sound more like a slavic language like Polish or Russian, while Brazilian Portuguese has more open vowels (most likely due to African and Indigenous influences)

Also, the Chavacano language sounds like Spanish, but like a lower class simplified Spanish. A native spanish speaker from Latin America or Spain would see it as something equivalent to redneck or ebonics Spanish. That is not to say the Latin Americans and Spaniards don't speak bad Spanish. There are so many that do.

Yeah i saw several of this guys videos lol. He is pretty good at languages.

You call yourself East Frisian but you don't speak Frisian?

Frisian was the language which was spoken in East Frisia until about 1800.
Today the local dialect is a form of Low German with some frisian substrates, so although it is considered as low german (Plattdüütsch) it has some words which are not common in other low german dialects.
For example while the low german word for "to talk" is "schnacken" in East Frisia you say "praten/proten".

I do understand East frisian to some extend but (unfortunality) i can only speak a few sentences.
My uncle who has lived most of his live in East Frisia is quite fluent in it though and in my experience many especially older people still prefer to communicate in that language, rather than Standard german.
