Honestly speaking there isnt much "unique" souvenirs in singapore. The usual fridge magnets, key chain, t-shirts, statues, paper weights etc etc

But if for females/ladies, i would think the Singapore girl SIA uniform KEBAYA would be a good choice, personal opinioin

Roti prata, chicken rice, chili crab, rojak, char kway teow, rendang, murtabak, durian (just getting into peak season...look for D24 and Cat Mountain King). I can name lots more and I have probably left off a few important ones but.....

You might not be able to keep any of these but you can take a picture and have a great memory of many great meals.

For something more permanent...

Batik (or some material down on Arab street. You can bring it home and have something made later)

22K gold

You might find the Vanda 'Miss Joaquim' bulb that is packaged and labeled for import to US like you can Dutch tulips but I don't know for sure.

Jade (if you don't know how to pick it out, get someone that can show you the real deal. Go to a real store and feel it, you can spot the cheaper fakes easily once you know what the real deal feels like, but before shelling out big bucks for anything jade you better be at a reliable store and not a street vendor)

Singapore flag

Kwan Kung statue. (you can get tons of statues made out of fishbone and other stuff)

Oh and you can't leave without a "fine city" shirt or a "lah" shirt.

Good Suggestions - you can also go to Ang Moh Kio and go see a Singaporean guy commonly known as the JosStick Man.

He makes beautiful statues out of dust from a local tree. They are done in traditional styles for Chinese Holidays. Locals buy and burn them in honor of dead loved ones but you can keep it. They are unique and make very nice housewares.

Google Joss Stick man in Ang Moh Kio

I got a nice fridge magnet from the Army Museum during our last visit." Our Army. Ready. Decisive. Respected".

You can buy a gold-plated orchid from the Botanical Gardens; it comes with a gold certificate (I think). It is quite unique - gold-plating a orchid.
