Indeed...I know it's a stereotype (and an exaggeration although sadly there are really people like that) but it just cracks me up every time! lol...at least my mother who was from Singapore was not like that.

For a third world country vietnam have higher iq average than its neighbor, only second to singapore! Must be the food factor there.

It's not so much about parents. The ambiance in school is like that.

My parents did not care about my studying too much. They never checked my homework or asked me what I learned in details; but the teachers and peer pressure were sufficient.

That reminds me chinese parents in indonesia loved sending their kids for too much afterclass lesson... Lol not sure about chinese in sea apart fro indonesia behaved this way.
