This story gets more and more bizarre. Now the Malaysian Air Force believe that the plane changed direction and made it to the Straits of Malacca (which is in the total opposite direction where the plane was supposed to be head). I guess the search for the plane also needs to include the Straits of Malacca.

Since the Straits of Malacca are a very busy shipping channel, how come nothing has been spotted in that area?

One article says the Malaysian gov't visited the crash site this morning. It's near the small island of Pulua Perak, on Malaysia's western edge. That would be really strange, if true. Malaysian authorities are investigating the mental health of the passengers and crew, as one possible cause of the lost plane. Villagers in the area reported a plane flying extremely low around 1 or 2 in the morning.

it just gets curiouser and curiouser.

There are some news reports that several witnesses heard noise and saw unusual light in the sky near the Thai-Malaysian border.

Then there is a report that a New Zealander oil rig worker working off the Southeastern Coast of Vietnam saw flames of possibly an airplane.

Oil Rig Worker: 'I Saw the Malaysia Airlines Plane Come Down'

I just can’t believe we are no closer than on March 8, 2014 to pinpointing a possible location of the plane.

That's all old news by now. The oil rig worker's report was investigated, and nothing turned up. It's the reports of a low-flying plane in the wee hours of the morning last weekend that lead Malaysian authorities to expand the search field to the Malacca Straight about 24 hours ago. Still, nothing has been found.
