What happens if you enter the country from an airport that you didn't list on your application? I wrote New Delhi, because it seems like the most practical and cheapest place to fly in. I figured I'd spend around three weeks going up and around Uttarakhand.

What happens if I made a last minute decision to fly in to Kolkata or Kochin, for example? Is that unacceptable, or is it just a meaningless formality on paper? I know that sounds redundant, but the application also says to list the hotel you plan on initially staying at, while other sources say it's okay to just write any hotel. They don't actually care if you ever stay there.

Either way I have the visa. I just like the option to be spontaneous for the sake of adventure.

Meaningless. The immigration checkpoint will not know the name of the hotel you wrote on your visa application form. Plus, they are aware that travel plans often change. They may want to ensure you have an onward ticket, but that is a remote possibility, and only if you show up looking like a bum.
