Yeah kidding it is common ,I also can joke with anyone,This is a FORUM, all are free to write their opinion in mind, but if you write a comment like this, I think you're playing Or mocked our country. only that my comments. ^^^^
Well it seems you couldn't joke about that, took it too much to heart...
I gotta agree with Postman here. A lot of the middle class people I know in Singapore fly way more than the avg Americans I know.
And airfare is way cheaper, with more access to cheap countries.
In the U.S., you will most likely be flying to yet another American city, and generally, a much more expensive, yet interesting one.
Flying out of the U.S. is almost inconceivable unless you've seen most of the U.S., and its tiring, which takes a long time! I mean, most people including Americans pretty much need and want to see California, New York, etc. before taking that much further international flight to Mexico or somewhere.
In short, just completely different geography and situations.

Yeah most of the US is globally pretty isolated. Singapore is within a few hours flight of so many countries. If you live in say, Seattle, it's a 10 hour flight to get to the nearest country that isn't in North America.

Flight from Seattle to Eastcoast Russia, Northern half of Japan or Northern South America (Northern Peru/Ecuador/Colombia/Venezuela/Guyana/Suriname/Guiana) is still doable in 8-10 hours.
