Delhi like Beijing has very bad air quality due to pollution. Would that be factor in your decision to visit or to work in Delhi or Beijing if you had the opportunity to do so?
I will be in Delhi next month. I'm aware of the problem, but I'll be damned if I miss out on some great food and a very convenient airport location (within India) over a few days in a smoggy city.
I would only be concerned about it if I had to work or live there for a period greater than a few months, but I think Delhi is one of the most hated major cities on Earth, not for the pollution but the bad aesthetic, bad weather, and lack of charm. I doubt I or much anyone else (either foreign or with no roots/job in Delhi) would feel drawn to be there for an extended period anyways.
I'm not planning a trip, but if I were ... I would spend more time in Delhi if it weren't as polluted. Mussoorie would be my other main destination. More Mussoorie, less Delhi. I have a friend in Delhi that I would absolutely spend time with.
