If you have travelled to both locations or even just Dhaka, what are the main differences? People talk about India being the big grandaddy of crowded, filthy, smelly, or just a general assault to the senses, but when I google photos of Dhaka it seems way more extreme than any Indian city I can think of. I wonder why it isn't talked about more often.

Granted, I've never been to either but will be visiting India mext month. So maybe this is totally an unfounded observation.

I think densities are similar to big Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Karachi in Pakistan. I wonder if Dhaka has anything that quite matches Dharavi in Mumbai.

I've regularly heard that Dhaka IS the most overcrowded highest density city on earth. I usually think of Bangladesh as an even more crowded, more dense, India.
