India is 13% Muslim and only 1.5% Buddhist now. Buddhists have been a small minority for quite some time now. I think most Muslims today were Hindus who in some cases were forced to convert (or their ancestors were).

It is true that many christian lives in china. They worship mammon.Since the 1980s, when religious belief was again permitted, the official Churches have gradually created more space for themselves.

It seems the whole American-style 'prosperity' gospel thing is big in South Korea.

This news article just came out yesterday (Easter Sunday), some are more optimistic about Christianity in China:
China on course to become 'world's most Christian nation' within 15 years - Telegraph

It is important to recognize that projection does play a role in most of the articles about religion in China that are published in countries with majority Christian populations. For instance, most of the articles I've read about "religion" in China are actually about Christianity in China (more often then not, they don't even mention Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, or Falun Gong). Even National Geographic used to always publish an obligatory church worship photo in every one of it's articles about the PRC. I haven't read it for awhile so I don't know if this is still the case.

That said, the people quoted in this article (conveniently published during the Easter holiday season) may be correct about the continued growth of Christianity in China. But they may also be projecting their hopes (the professor quoted is a prominent Chinese Christian and the church leader in China would of course hope for the growth of his faith).

Falun Gong is a "religion"?
It is more like Yoga or Tai Chi kind of thing. Sometimes western media just goes about and write everything they like to suit their needs....

Who knows? Spiritual discipline, religion? Seems to upset the Chinese authorities, whatever it is.

Take a look at Japan. I don't think China will become similar to South Korea on the popularity of Christianity. China will at most be like Japan.

Chinese people are too "realistic" to be religious in general.

If you do some research, you will find Christian churches grow fast mainly in rural China, where people have no education. Urban youth are not really attracted to Christianity that much, except for some trendy-wannabe girls.
