Not really, the entertainment industry there is more domestic than international. It has influences on HK and Taiwan at most, because of languages.
Japan is closer to the USA of East and SE Asia,at least in certain areas like animations,Korea comes second, for its Kpop music and dramas
Does China have a big Entertainment Industry that is popular all over Asia?
I always imagine China being the "USA" of East and SE Asia.
In fact Hong Kong and Taiwan influenced mainland China a lot during 1980~1990s. When I was a child, I watched a lot of HK and Taiwanese TV series. Most Mandarin pop songs were from Taiwan, and Cantonese songs were popular even in North China too. Singapore had some products in Mandarin language as well.
In the new century, mainland China has exported some entertainment products to other Chinese societies, especially some TV series based on ancient history of China. Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland often make movies and TV programs together. Many famous Chinese TV shows invited Taiwan and Hong Kong celebrities. For example, "the Voice of China" had half of the judges from Taiwan. As a result, those products can easily be accepted by Taiwan and Hong Kong audience as well.
I don't know if it is true but it is said most of the Taiwanese celebrities are 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants from mainland, so they support China even if they do not speak out.
