And yes there is no sincere friendship between countries for sure, not even Canada and US,but they definitely share much closer values than China does with any of them.
Why should Japan have 'extremely strong' hostility towards China? Some animosity, but it was Japan who enacted the Nanking massacre. At least China's hatred for Japan is more undestandable. What does Japan have to hate so much about China, aside from the usual rivalry and competition?

Japan has no military of it's own, it relies on it's western allies, principally the United States.

Recently, the two nations have always had conflicts over Senkaku Islands.Apparently China has been fortifying its military and last November China announced an ADIZ covering the East China Sea.Japan has since been very nervous, and Shinzo Abe is those kind of prime minister who doesn't give a **** about China,so he has been talking about release to restriction of Japanese military in order to defend China if the latter takes any further action. In order to do that,Japan is currently talking about modifying its consititution.

The controversy in East and South China Sea is actually why Obama specifically visited Japan,S. Korea,Malaysia, and Philippines in April.

Also it's actually quite wrong to say that Japan has no military on its own.Sure there are extensive restrictions, but Japan still is within the top five when it comes to military expenditures. When you have a powerful yet hostile neighbor like China and Russia, and another crazy ridiculous neighbor that might do something out of nowhere like North Korea,it's pretty much impossible to completely abolish the military and just rely on the US.

Well yes, more a military who is powerless against China I suppose.

I wouldn't say Japan's military is powerless against China. It's probably weaker at current state because of restrictions, but if they eventually abolishes the restrictions,Japan could be extremely powerful.WWII is a living proof of its strength.
Not to mention that Japan has US on its back.

Well if that day comes,a war is probably right in the corner....ew.

Well obviously things are a lot difference since WWII. The balance of power is clearly in favour of China. The Chinese could nuke Japan before they could do anything.

If China nukes Japan, every other country would attack China without hesitating.China is not the most popular country out there.Unless Japan is the one that starts it.Russia wouldn't help China either,it'd probably jump into the war at last second than say that they are also on the winning side.
However I don't think Japan would attack first tbh, their actions recently are more on the defending side.China, however, has been pretty aggressive, and nobody in the region is dared to anything against them atm.

The tension has been high, but I think a war is highly impossible.

You mean highly improbable? lol

I think a Cold War situation between China and the US is possible, but if the US tried to impose sanctions/or reneg on it's deficits, that could lead to hostilities. I think the rise of China and Korea has been detrimental to Japan economically, so there could be some competition there.

Like Israel, Poland can do this and that all because of US support, without which it is nothing.

What do you think the world will do if US decides to nuke Iran (without Iran provoking it)? Its allies will probably just sit there either applauding (UK, Canada for example) or keep silent as if nothing happened (Europe).

If Japan finally abolish the restrictions, they will target America rather than Chinese.
Japan is a very unique kind of country, they remember something forever.
I do not believe everyone on the table want to intimidating Japan.
