Modi's election is a real game changer in the region. He is a hindu nationalist and has been know to have a mean streak when it comes to muslims. With a hostile Pakistan on the west and a troublesome Bangladesh to the east of India it doesn't look good. And then there is the border hasle that India has with China. There is a huge bias against him for the Gujurat riots that occurred in 2002. Its a political set up by the opposing political party called Congress who tried to nail him because he is a threat to their political dominance. The Congress party has been led by the Gandhi's who include 3 former PM's, 1 party boss and her kids who are members! That's within 60 yrs! Democracy was a sham in India.
He is exactly the type of politican the world needs. Hard working, take no ****, gets the job done right the frist time type of guy. India has not had a leader of his caiber yet. There were potential leaders who never became PM's for BS reasons
The 2002 Gujarat riots is the only thing that Modi's detractors have against him which really amounts to nothing. Inquiry after inquiry, including one by the Indian Supreme Court, has cleared him of any wrongdoing in the 2002 Gujarat riots. Aside from the civil disturbance that occurred under his watch, his track record as Gujarat Chief Minister has been immaculate. Gujarat has been steaming ahead under his leadership, averaging 10-11% growth for the past decade. Under his watch, Gujarat became a model for sound and efficient governance in India.
Also, Modi represents something, the self made man. Indian national politics has been mostly dominated by one family since independence, and here comes a guy from what the Indian gov't defines as a "backward class" who started out in life as a tea vendor and has an iron will for bringing change to an ineffective political/bureaucratic system.
Most Indians rightfully have the impression that nothing happens in India because of endless/corrupt bureaucracy. It'll be interesting to see what Modi can do on the national level.

I know about Pakistan but is Bangladesh "troublesome"? I never hear anything about them.
You mentioned China but I am also wondering how he will move Indian relations with countries like the USA, Russia, Iran, the EU, Indonesia and Vietnam?

Is it me or many male Indian Prime Ministers are a bit older than other country counterparts? At certain ages, the minds (wisdoms) cannot overcome the physical aspects (charisma, energetic, long working hours, traveling, etc..)
Good news . Any patriot who seizes power and is ready to fight the NWO is for me good news, regardless of he country, and regardless of his party affiliation (right-wing or left-wing). So more power to the new leader of India!

Excellent post! There are high hopes tied to Narendra Modi willing the election and as the opinion poll suggests, he should win comfortably. He has an excellent track record of being pro-business and pro-developement. He is a visionary and shrewd manager. He ensures what looks good on paper is delivered as promised. And above all, he is not corrupt - an extremely rare quality in Indian politics.
Only time will tell what he delivers but I am certain he will lead to a stronger, stable and more unified India.
People are expecting a Sardar Patel. The question is whether he can deliver. Otherwise, the gandhis will come back....
A blind person can deliver more than the Gandhi's. Of all the candidates, he is simply the best man for the job. Simple. He has clearly obtained a majority vote which will aid him greatly in government to get bills pushed. The bar is so low, it will be easy for him to do better than the previous gov't.
