Just a bit surprised that there are many areas in Bangkok that are still quite poor notwithstanding being the most visited country in Asia. Their Pier is very similar to piers in the small cities in the Philippines.
Also, their taxi system is still very backwards. So many drivers do not use the metre system. In my hometown in the Philippines, all taxis use metre since 2000. No one gets ripped off.

Bangkok's taxi is better than KL, to be fair both are nasty buy in KL they're just the worst (and quiet often very rude).... they all have meter system but will always try to rip you off by offering you price twice you normally pay if you used the meter... It's very hard to find taxi that is willing to pay by meter in KL, you have to wait for a while in the street for a taxi that will go by meter. Normally i used myteksi app that would get you taxi that accept meter prices for RM2 (60cent) charge.
