I'm just looking at some photos of Sikkim, one of the smaller states in Northeast India. I am wondering why it seems most people in the photos I'm looking at appear to be more East Asian than South Asian. I mean as in rounder faces, almond eyes etc. Does it have anything to do with Tibet or Nepal? Though I know that most Tibetans in exile live in Himachal Pradesh way out West...

I feel weird making a race thread since these go way out of hand all too often, but I'm genuinely just curious.

I'll contribute what I know: many of the tribes of Nepal, Bhutan, and the tribal states of India came down from Mongolia. In Nepal for example you have tribes from India as represented by the Chettri, tribes from Mongolia such as the Newar, Tibetan tribes like the Sherpa, and tribes of indeterminate origin such as the Limbu.

Look at this snap of India Soccer Team. That is a good indicator of different complexions of Indians from different states. Here in the USA or Canada, Indians are mostly either from Punjab, Gujarat or South India like Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Bangalore etc. So people think that every Indian is like that. But India has like 29 states and each state is different in how people look, eat, speak, dress etc.
