I think there were 23 Americans on the jet as well.

Talk about a bad year.
Exactly, and to think it's merely July now.....
Wtf is going on with 2014?I seriously don't get it.

Btw there was a Taiwanese airplane passing the air space right after this tragedy, like merely 100 km away, traveling from Amsterdam to Taipei.
I don't know what to say,it's just so wrong to think that Taiwanese were luckier....

It is the 2nd time that an MH flight encountered a tragic accident in 4 months.

What are your thoughts.

Condolence to the families and relatives of MH17 passengers and crews.
Tragic indeed and certainly a senseless loss of life; heartfelt sympathy and condolences for all the passengers and their grieving families in this dark and difficult time.

Another thing to note is the crash of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 comes on exactly the 18th year anniversary of the crash of TWA Flight 800 which crashed after exploding in midair on July 17, 1996. There were some people who speculated that TWA Flight 800 was hit by a missile. But, the conclusion from official investigation ruled otherwise.
Malaysia Airlines is a national brand / icon of Malaysia...it should be rebranded in the future but for now any MH airliner is eerie to fly with.

Here is a youtube link where on the same day 10 flights before MH 17 were all flying on a different path (kilometers away from MH17 path), and a no-danger path...but only MH17 was flying over a warzone...

"Bombshell! Proof That Malaysia Flight MH17 Was Diverted Over Ukraine War Zone!
This serves as absolute proof that Malaysia Flight MH17 was intentionally flown into Hostile Air Space!
So perhaps before coming to "certain" conclusion about the involvement of this rebel or that, the key questions one should ask before casting blame, is why did the pilot divert from his usual flight plan, why did he fly above restricted airspace, and just what, if any instructions, did Kiev air control give the pilot in the minutes before the tragic explosion?"

What do you think mates?

They say that pro Russians who shot the MH, what if the Ukraine forces itself? just to get int'l. attention to be blamed to their enemy so that the entire world would act to those pro Russians, and eventually will save Ukraine from that invasion?

would it be possible? just a devil's advocate what if...

The airline is on the verge of bankruptcy, as its been making so much losses in the past year and quality of the aircraft have dwindled since then. It was in the top 10 airline in skytrax, but since others competitor has been improving themself while they remain stagnant today they're ranked 18th in skytrax. Plus the accidents that occurs really dropped dead basically anything that could potentially bring the aircraft back to life, a lot of suggestion has been made to make the company go private, but of course the government wouldn't want this to happen.

I think the world esp the Western powers want the intl community to see that it's the Pro Russian insurgents did it with Russia supplying the Buk missile that shot the MH17 plane down.
take note though that just this week there were 2 Ukrainian military planes were shot down by these insurgents...

I think MAS has the most number of airline fatalities today...well, flying on an airplane is deemed very safe but today the probability of flying an MH airliner to be lost anywhere is very high...just saying...

I searched this from the net and quite eerie...

MAS had an old ad and it said " wherever you go, no one will know"
this already circulated during the MH370 disappearance...

the ad was used during MAS' inaguration on its B777 planes i think...
both MH17 and 370 were B777.

it's really a sad day for the families and passengers of these 2 ill-fated MH airliners.
