A tragic day for all relatives of passengers of MH17...The plane was travelling from KL to AMS. It was believed to have been shot down by pro Russian separatists in the Ukraine war zone.
It is the 2nd time that an MH flight encountered a tragic accident in 4 months.
What are your thoughts.
Condolence to the families and relatives of MH17 passengers and crews.

You would think the airlines would have the common sense not to fly over a war zone. If I were a passenger, I'd gladly pay my share of the extra fuel to fly around.

There was a rumor that MH17 diverted its route due to bad weather I think and ended up in the war zone area.

Yes, this truly has been a tragic year for Malaysian Airlines. What are the chances of within less than the same year that 2 major incidents occur- Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 goes missing and then now Malaysian Airline Flight 17 crashes by apparently being hit by a missile. Another thing to note is the crash of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 comes on exactly the 18th year anniversary of the crash of TWA Flight 800 which crashed after exploding in midair on July 17, 1996. There were some people who speculated that TWA Flight 800 was hit by a missile. But, the conclusion from official investigation ruled otherwise.
