I think September and May are the best months. Still like summer but not unbearable.
In October, you can't wear shorts in Beijing, especially at night.

The weather here in GZ has been heavenly the last few weeks... warm, but not hot, with nice breezes. I wore a long sleeved shirt for the first time in months, a few days ago.

Beijing the least affected by typhoons during summer.
HK the lowest maximum temperature among the three in summer. heatwaves in BJ and SH can be bad.
