it's also known as the Lunar New Year to other asian ethnic groups that celebrate the New Year

since it's not just for Chinese but other groups that have a similar culture or tradition

I used to look forward to Chinese New Year(or Lunar New Year, whatever) as a kid.

Is it? I feel like it's everywhere.
But I've never felt like it's the food for New Year. More like for weddings.

Speaking of New Year food, I like Buddha Jumps Over the Wall(I swear I had no idea the English name of this dish is this. Oh my god.).

You serious? It's not even funny in this day and age...

Anyway, happy Chinese New Year to everyone. For those of you who can understand Chinese/with Chinese background, don't forget to watch this year's CCTV New Year's Gala. The shows and skits are really quite good. As much as I hate CCTV as a media organization, its New Year Gala has really become a permanent tradition for all Chinese worldwide.

Full 5-hour show can be found here: 2015年央视羊年春晚直播
