Stick with AirAsia and TigerAir and all the other budget ones instead, I suppose

Did fares drop a lot since all those events?

I once booked a flight from this airline called Orbest. It went bankrupt between then and my day of departure without anyone letting me know, and I was stranded in CUN. My mom bailed me out of the situation, but literally no one in the airport would help me. Absolutely no protocol for this situation apparently. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, and they gave me the money back, but the new flight was almost twice the cost and no one coughed that up.

So, I wouldn't book any flight on an airline that might be going under at this point.

I had the same situation when I was a student in Spain. I flew from Valencia to Rome, ONLY for the weekend. They let me board the plane just fine on Friday night. Then on Sunday for my return flight, the airline company apparently went bankrupt, and everyone was stranded. I had to be back to school on Monday, and with students not having much money as it is!

What peeved me off most, was obviously someone knew that they were stranding passengers when they let them board on Friday night. (It was unknown Italian Airline that stranded me, for anyone's curiosity).

I'd be kind of sad if that happened. Haven't flown them for ages, but did a few times when we were younger.

Yeah it's really unfortunate. The airline barely did anything wrong, at least as far as we know. First plane went completely missing and the second one was shot down by freaks, yet these Malaysians ended up the suffering bunch.

It's really sad.
