The chinese are the most widespread of all the asians. There are Chinese in just about all the asian countries, but no other asian besides the indigenous ones. So only they can get persecuted.
But I hear the Filipino and indonesian servants in the middle east are treated like slaves.
Well Imperial Japan did lots of cruel things to everyone.
And when China was powerful, they used to bully everyone around them too. Every asian state pretty much was a tribute state, and had to obey the orders of the chinese. I think that is how originally all the overseas chinese came to dominate every industry in other countries.
That shooting was in Lousiana about 23 years ago... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deat...hihiro_Hattori
The Japanese and other Asian media, and also Asian-American rights activists and groups, framed it as an example of racist Americans targeting Asians, but it really was more an instance of American castle-doctrine gun culture claiming someone who happened to be Asian. There are countless similar stories of white people suffering the same fate at the hands of a paranoid and trigger-happy gun owner, and it's nOt agood example of Asians being "bullied" in the US.
There was also the case of a white father & son who killed a Chinese American man, thinking him Japanese, in Michigan back when the whole "Japanese are stealing our jobs" sentiment started taking over the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Vincent_Chin
That sentiment is pretty much history now. There's really no widespread anti-Asian feelings in the US nowadays, even between Black & Asian people.
Wrong. Korean and Asian shops were specifically targeted by blacks during the riots. Luckily, they are made of tough stuff, and not only did they protect their shops using weapons, but they rebuilt stronger and better.
....and they also looted Hispanic businesses, beat Reginald Denny etc etc etc.
People in Asia treat foreigners better, violence is not as common as the violence against minority races in western countries.
Most Asians in western countries have experience a little or serious racism. A few non violent incidents in 50 years is still racism, comparing to zero racism to the native people in homogeneous Asian countries.

Well, I wouldn't say "zero." The Ainu in Japan, many minorities esp. Uyghur and Hui in China, Rohingya in Myanmar, etc.
T
but, the damage was done; when I first moved to LA in '02, there was still palpable and open animosity between the two communities. I recall seeing a group of young Korean thugs stop their car an get out to asault a group of early-teenage black kids by a K-town burger king for no discernable reason. Black people would openly do the whole "ching chong chang" thing at Koreans and immediately snap to "DO YOU UNDERSTAND A DAMN THING I'M SAYING?" in interactions. Koreans would shout down at black people. It's mellower now, but especially among area natives, there is still some residual animosity.
The rest of LA doesn't have a problem with Koreans or other Asians though. LA is probably the only city in the West where a Chinese person will be mistaken for a Korean, though, and not the inverse
Possibly just among the local Black population of a defacto segregated city. Just as many continue to see Mexicans as default for any Latino because Koreans were the Asians that were around they became the default assumption for an Asian. Push the riot back before about 1980 and the default assumption for a local Asian in the would have been Japanese since locally Blacks followed the returning from WWII internment Japanese Americans into areas which they were not allowed in before due to sundown laws and other methods to separate communities. .
