Seriously, Japan shouldn't have to apologize anymore. It should also accept the reality that in any future war between China and Japan, or between China and the US, Japan is toast/finished. In any war involving the Taiwan issue or the SCS, Japan should also expect to be toast/finished. You want to be an enemy of China? Then so be it.

China would be utterly anniliated if it attached Japan or the us. There's no logical reason for China to ever be in that position. It would be far more profitable for them to continue to be a manufacturing powerhouse not a belligerent war mongering nation.

Read my note about the reason why China would. If Japan threatens China, or Chinese interests in the SCS, Taiwan or anywhere else, it will finish Japan. It wont be an attack out of the blue.

And it's not what I want...it's what will happen.

Thankfully I am an optimist and I don't believe China would do such a foolish thing.

China has North Korea and Russia on their side. The West would be wise to stay out of China's sphere of influence which includes all of East Asia, as it historically was for 1000 years or more. China also holds a nice percentage of our treasuries, so hmmm, China doesn't need weapons when they are holding onto our wallet

All that military might lost of the Vietnam War, losing Afghanistan, Iraq is a quagmire once again. When China moves into the SCS more, don't expect the U.S. to be there. Nobody wants to start WW III.

The US lacked the will not the manpower or tech to win those wars. We fought those wars with the equivalent of our hands being tied.

No, it absolutely wouldn't.

They will build their military up and act increasingly belligerent, but will always stop short of actually attacking their adversaries, because all of their adversaries are a) trade partners, and b) also their trade partners.

China has become as successful as it has in the last twenty years because of economic reforms that allowed it to become the world's factory and lessening personal economic restrictions; not because of some sort of special, ethereal, nationalist one-ness that comes from being Chinese, as many boosters and the propaganda machine would have you believe. The CCP has been smart in the restrictions it places on sending money out of the country, in creating at least some of a service sector that keeps the money flowing within China and boosts the size of the middle class, but it also knows that it needs that international trade to keep money coming in. Starting a war would be one of the fastest ways to stop the flow of money from much of the globe. A handful of impoverished African nations and Russia, whose money is a tick above worthless and whose sphere of influence only extends a little bit outside of its own borders, would not be enough to keep the party going (figuratively and literally).

Asian culture is different. There is no forgiveness when such things happened, and the best they can do is "not to mention it".

In fact China is much less nationalist than Japan or Korea. It seems to be louder only because of its size and influence.
