Is Israel Safe for Travel? | USA Today

The stunning city no one is visiting

Why I won't travel to Israel

Did you enjoy your six month hiatus? We see you're back with your anti Israel comments. So lets see what your links are:

The first one is from 2/2015 and basically says to stay out of Arab areas. Not an issue since it's not on the tourist routes.

Quote:
The Department of State strongly warns U.S. citizens against travel to the Gaza Strip...
The second one is from 2009. It's 2015 so it's a bit out of date.

The third and fourth Australian links are related to the 2014 Summer War with Gaza. Most of the casualties were in Gaza since that was where all the rocket launches came from. Gaza is not a tourist destination.

So probably the next travel warning will be for December. Who will be mostly affected by it? Arabs. Since there would be less visitors and thus less revenue for their businesses. It may affect the Hotel industry. And who will it affect? The Arabs who work in those hotels as they get laid off due to a drop in business.

Translation: Israel is surrounded by savages.

But nobody is better at keeping savages out than Israel. That is why they have walls, and some of the best security in the world. The savages have now taken to the streets with knives, and that is disheartening, but that will be short lived as everyone is aware of the threat and because the hyper vigilance of the Israeli government and private citizens allows them to quickly put the savages down before they can hurt more people.

I know many people who go to Israel on a regular basis, and they don't feel any less safe there than in most American cities.

I never felt unsafe when I went to Israel in 2006. It was a Birthright tour and the itinerary is likely carefully scrutinized to account for any areas that might have higher tensions than another.

I know someone who went to Jerusalem as an exchange student for roughly 6 months and she said that it wasn't dangerous at all, except for occasional bomb alerts during the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict.

You can write and post anything you want, the fact is that israel is in constant war with its neighbor therefore there is no peace in Israel and cannot be safe, all israeli cities were under threat because of the illegal occupation of Palestinian land.

I would agree with you, if israel redirect to a more specialized tourism, like prisons visits where Palestinian children are detained, torture facilites where israeli train how to torture Palestinians, visit of the apartheid wall that closes on Palestinian villages, also visits to settlers village to learn how settlers burn palestinian harvest, that is the real face of tourism in israel

Technically, South Korea is still at war with North Korea. By your logic, I suppose South Korea is one of the most dangerous countries in the world despite having some of the lowest crime rates.

(1) The only one Israel is in any type of current war is Hamas terrorists and not any bordering country. And the land that you consider as illegally occupied that they live in is the Gaza Strip where there are no Jews. How about they cut all the electrical lines from Israel and close their border with Israel thus stopping all imports from Israel. Then they can easily make economic trade with Egypt. Sounds good, right?

(2) I don't think any nation on the planet has tours of Prisons. But there may be money in that for the Arab countries that do public executions and make it a tourist destination. Don't you think?
