El Nido (actually, the islands surrounding it). El Nido itself is just ok, so you need to make sure you go on an island-hopping tour

Batanes is beautiful, but there's not much to do and hardly any tourists go there. But it's interesting because it's so different from the rest of the Philippines

I also love the mountainous areas around Baguio and further north.

there are beautiful views and mountains so high that they're above the clouds.

I heard Coron is just as good as El Nido, but few people visit there. Boracay is still great IMO, but it's very touristy. There are so many islands in the Philippines- 5,000 of them are uninhabited.

This place and Pataya in Thailand.

Full of ladies asking you for money in exchange for something they provide with you.

Actually they're inhabited, just not by modern day civilization. Yeah, check out some of those islands and don't be surprised if you end up becoming a food source.

Ok boss. Go for it and let us know how that goes. I've been on motor boats throughout many of those islands and sometimes we'd be right off the land and we'd come up on people just standing there completely motionless looking at us like we were from another planet or something. If we were any closer I'm sure we'd see them watering at the mouth as in hoping we "didn't forget the gravy", if you know what I mean. Many if not most of these were people appearing to be of aboriginal status.

Maybe I was wrong, but I wasn't willing to take that chance.

I plan on doing a lot of snorkeling, diving, whale watching, etc.
I spent a month in Manila during September.

A decent to good apartment off Airbnb will run about 400-700 (can find luxury apartments for much more)

Food is cheap. Like 2-15 dollars.

Taxis are cheap also.

5,000 is more than enough.

I would go on dates every night with a female to clubs and what not. Payed for dinner also.

Normal day of all that would cost about 40-80 dollars.

Days I just chilled at the apartment and did nothing only cost 15 dollars maybe in food.

Greetings! I'm currently vacationing in The Philippines with my GF. Arrived Dec 29, 2015 and will be here 3 weeks before returning home.

As others mentioned, $5K may or may not be enough depending on your level of accomodations and whether you are travelling with others. I expect for our 3 week total travel costs to be around $5K, but not much more than that. Some of our accomodations have been humble by US standards. But, then again, we are here to enjoy the endless natural beauty of the Philippines vs hotel ammeneties.

What a God Beautiful place this is. Just returned to Manila after spending new years in CorĂ³n Island in northern Palawan. The views are as stunning as its waters are blue, green, or crystal clear.
