Actually, he's been opening inquiries recently on journalists who have been assassinated. This is from a newspaper that has been critical of him!

What we sell to foreign governments has strings that attach to puppets ... to fight for our pivot against ??

Looks like Pres. Duterte declares victory and promises change, actually IS HAPPENING (again):

On December 27, 1991 President Aquino, who had previously fought to delay the U.S. pullout to cushion the country's battered economy (Mt. Pinatubo eruption), issued a formal notice for the U.S. to leave by the end of 1992.

November 14, 1992 marked the FIRST TIME since the 16th century that NO FOREIGN MILITARY forces were present in the Philippines.

Beginning in June 2012, the Philippine government said that the United States military could use the old base, as long as prior approval was granted by the Philippine government. This follows expanded military ties between the two nations, and an "American Pivot" towards Asia. This follows a Visiting Forces Agreement made in 1999, that saw annual visits of United States forces to conduct large scale exercises between the two allies. The Sydney Morning Herald reported on 20 November 2012 that Subic Bay will host US ships, Marines and aircraft on a semi-permanent basis which according to analysts will give the US a strategically important force posture for its shift in emphasis to the Pacific.

I don't see how this would be good for the Philippines at all. Just doesn't seem like his foreign policy tactics are very good.

I thought the comments he made about that Australian lady that was raped and murdered back in '89 were really disgusting.

Duterte may be popular now since he's going after the drug users and dealers, but he will find other enemies. Anyone who opposes him risks being imprisoned or murdered. He'll sever relations with the United States, persecute the churches, and have the Filipino people under a police state that makes the days of Ferdinand Marcos look like a Sunday picnic. The number of Filipinos going into exile will rise tremendously and the economy will be even worse than it is now.

Change alright, by becoming a Chinese colony. I will be very happy when this clown gets strung up like Mussolini. I think he will be tolerated until he tries to get too cozy with the Chinese, most Filipinos (outside of Mindanao) are very pro-American.

Oh and his comments about the Australian nun that was raped were repulsive beyond words. What a disgusting cretin. This guy has no class, no manners, and no brains.

I wonder if people from Mindanao have a different mindset than those from other parts of the Philippines regarding the United States.

It probably has to do with the heavy handed tactics used during the Moro Rebellion by the US Army, Philippine Scouts, Philippine Constabulary, etc.

BTW: Duterte is from Davao (biggest city on Mindanao).
