Well there are LGBT people everywhere, that's about as normal as it could get, but I'm willing to bet that most of them are closeted and will face brutal consequences if they try to come out, both at work place and at home. It's just how things are here. In Indonesia's case there are still regions that actively terrorise them and the situation is getting worse. Such things don't happen in places like Canada or Germany, or the US.

People often associate the vibrant gay scenes around theatre areas, some restricted beaches, or gay districts with tolerance and acceptance, the reality usually couldn't be more different.

this is because Indonesia holds a very strong eastern culture system, and religion is the main foundation whether that it is Islam,catholic,protestant,hindu etc in Indonesia forbid this. God has created human in pairs, between men and women not vice versa. If the gay relationship continues to grow in Indonesia , it will be a lot of women in Indonesia will not marry or out of stock male.
