Wuhan's neat. Obviously there's going to be a lot more recent architecture/developments than there are ancient or historic architecture, but Wuhan's a pretty massive city so there's definitely some things to be seen. There's also a huge and historic lake in the city.
And how much of that ancient 3,500 city is left do you think? Basically nothing. Probably some old artifacts and stuff, that's it.
I've always seen it as another big, polluted Chinese city.
If you want ancient go to Xi'an, even then don't expect Rome or Athens, very little Qin dynasty architecture remains.
I am interested in Wuhan postman, not any other place. I'd like to know more about Wuhan, not just about it's history.

Cheers! So is it one of the more progressive cities of China?

Ok I haven't been to Wuhan, but I have been to Chongqing. The air was so polluted we were advised not to stay outdoors for more than about half an hour.
Just out of interest why are you interested in Wuhan?
Because my friend went there teaching English a few years back and I have spoke with him about the place and he says it is great. Plus I have been reading lately about it online, just tickled my curiosity.

I guess so. Well, at least there are a lot of college kids in the area and a pretty decent expat population. Also really good central location for visiting many other major cities in China.

Definitely your friend would be the best source rather than random visitors. Have you tried looking around forums geared specifically to expats in China?
