Consumption attracts large fine and repeat offenders could be named and shamed under law that is first of its kind in Asia.

Taiwan is set to become the first country in Asia to ban the consumption of dog and cat meat, as increasing pet ownership across the continent has seen attitudes shift.

I don't even know what all the fuss is about, it seriously came out of nowhere. It's not like people really eat cats and dogs here, at least not for as long as I can remember, yet the news makes it seem like everyone here gobbled up dogs and cats as daily meals.

But well, we have plenty of embarrassments, one more (though a wrong one) doesn't really make any difference.

The cringiest part about all these news reports is that they all put Tsai on a shining pedestal, as if she was the one who was making an effort, when the reality is that all she's been doing is....well, nothing, the seat of the President is essentially an empty chair.

I don't eat dogs personally, but I think there's nothing wrong with it at all.

Nope.

By the same token, it's cruel to consume all animal products including meat and milk.

Eating cows isn't more moral than eating dogs.

Actually, drinking milk is ten times crueler than eating dogs. When you eat meats, animals only die once, the pain is short.

Check out where milk come from.

The bolded part of your statement doesn't make a bit of sense would you care to explain why you think drinking mild is crueler than eating dogs. On it's face it's a ridiculous laughable assertion.
