I was hoping for some travel or relocation comparison of some kind.

Looks like its some political thread, with a tinge of random tangents...

This space doesn't have to be exclusively one for travel or relocation discussions; I think of this space as discussions on mere facts about different places as well. Threads in this space could go in any direction. And I wasn't intending this thread, or others in this space, to be overly political. Otherwise I would have started this thread in a more political/current events part of City-data. In this case, I've merely been outlining similarities/differences between Israel and Cyprus, two little countries in the eastern Med with not just similar climate, food, culture, etc. but also at least superficially similar histories of economic development, democratization, and ethnic conflict. At least in this thread, I'm not here for travel or relocation advice.

That is simply not true.
Judaism does not seek converts. Judaism actually discourages conversion.

Judaism may discourage conversions (or at least makes them harder than, say, for Christianity or Islam), but it doesn't actively prohibit conversions the way that some other religions, like the Parsee variant of Zoroastrianism in India and the Druze religion in the Levant, do.
