Tokyo will just build islands and sea walls at the mouth of Tokyo bay to prevent the growing seas from devouring the city...

MOVE TO MANILA

Manila can also just expand reclamation efforts on Corregidor Island in the Mouth of Manila Bay and build a causeway across it and then we're safe.

Whereas all your coastal cities get swallowed up by the sea due to a lack of landmass enveloping them, us peeps in Tokyo and Manila will just be chilling waiting out the apocalypse in our sheltered harbors as you people drown.

That won't happen in forseeable future. Mark my words! Philippines is well known as sloth in materializing what's been planned. As of now, that Tokyo thing is not even proposed yet. It's nothing more than what we call "Vision", and vision is just mere dream that you draw to motivate you.

To be fair MetroManila is sinking as well, just not as fast as Jakarta. You can't act like everything is cool over there.

Jakarta is sinking, yes. That's why we build dam along northern coast called Giant Sea Wall and several manmade islands. Not just dream, the project is undergoing. You can google it.

I thought the Seawall project was cancelled?

Manila is sinking too and sea level rise will be a problem, like anywhere in the world. But if it ever became a problem, Manila Bay has a very small opening that can be closed up much easier than Jakarta, which faces an open ocean.

what makes you think they're going to continue with the Great Seawall when they decided to move the capital anyway? Why spend all that money to save a city that wont even be the capital anymore?

But isn't one of the reasons why they're moving the capital is because Jakarta is sinking? They mention that fact in everything I've read about why they're moving the capital. So why would they spend all that money to build the seawall when they've decided to move the capital anyway (and spend more money there too)? The project has already been canceled, so I dont see why they would start it up again after they decided to move the capital
