Also these problems are present on other countries, they are just more blown out in the Phils due to the press. Our press here are sort of "pabida" and irresponsible. Thats what happens when you put too much freedom for them and them put their cloak under the guise of democracy.

Are you saying cities in tropical countries can't have large, extensive transit systems? If so, I don't think that's true. Singapore is a very good case in point. Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shenzhen are all also technically within the tropics and have some of the largest systems in the world.

it is the dream of our government that mass transportation is not only enjoyed by lower class people as happened on busway or KRL, upper class society should be able to enjoy mass transportation like MRT JKT later, but more priority of MRT JKT is public facilities and public space made modern and more classy

Google Earth is one tool you can utilize and did you see the article you posted abt Manila and Jakarta? That was a very fine and honest review and clearly Manila is still notch better. Try harder! Maybe few more decades you may.

PS: maybe I can visit Jakarta one day to see if it lives up to your description against Manila.

I think so. Even more massive, numerous, walkable and modern ,I think, complete with over and underpasses and all amenities comparable to first world cities.

Indonesia is an odd one for Indians. It's a Muslim country (anti-India) but it's also more entrenched with Indians than the Philippines, with more Indian culture and actual support for India in Indonesia. The Philippines seems to just forget that India exists outside debates about westernization.

If you study both religious backgrounds it would make sense. Indonesia is Muslim majority but it has also Hindus and other religion particularly Bali so it is normal to get Hindu/Indian influence. Unlike the Phils which has very small segment of population that are into Hinduism, only very minimal to nil. Christian is different than Indian nor Hindu influence. Thats why.
