at least we already built those giant sea wall,.. How about u? what you do to your people eat rubbish?
Not only u doing thing,... Jakarta rehabilitation project

Oh we have more budget, not just protecting from sea level but also protecting from invasion,...
Dont want became China province

You didnt even read the study. It was about sustainability, not about water quality from the pipe. Also, the sea wall isn't even close to being complete, and the islands project has been scrapped, so there's no more "Giant Seawall" maybe little seawall. Half your city will be permanently underwater soon, and it's mostly because of poor infrastructure.

What do you want to do to them? Put them in jail? For what? For choosing to eat leftover food? Maybe that's how Indonesia handles things. You put people in jail for dumb things. Like mentioning religion in the wrong way.

Besides, that's an extreme. Most people in Manila dont do that. You're complaining that we dont have laws that stop people from eating from the garbage. Why dont you have laws that protect people's freedom of speech or freedom of religion (or non-religion)

Its fine we will be underwater soon, at least we can protect our land not just easily became China province.
we will be "sustainable" city
Sustainability in the face of climate change. For Jakarta, climate change is only half the problem. The poor water infrastructure is most of the problem. And building a sea wall (which wont even get built) is not going to fix the fact that 50% of the population doesnt even have running water.

Also, every indication shows that Manila has a higher quality of life and the Philippines has a higher HDI.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/54232919-post554.html

So you can argue about little details all day, but the big picture shows that Manila and the Philippines offer a better overall quality of life. Maybe Jakartans will finally get their water when the city is underwater

People have freedom to buy and sell. Nobody is forcing those people to eat it. They know what they're buying before they buy it. You want to throw people in jail for food they choose to consume. You also want to throw people in jail for ideas they express. In Jakarta, you cant even openly express atheist or agnostic ideas. You cant even say anything against any religion. Your country is full of thought police.

who start to argue little detail about water then?

because you mentioned infrastructure. You dont have a good infrastructure if 50% of the population doesnt even have running water, so then people drill for their own water, and then the city starts sinking because of that, and then you build big highways and huge malls on top of that, which makes the city sink even faster, but you still build the highways and malls because they look nice. And then you need to build a sea wall so half the city doesn't go underwater, but most of the project is scrapped, so it's probably too late. That doesnt sound like good infrastructure.

you said all cities around the world right,.. pls tell me

thought police??? we dont see extrajudicial killing here in Jakarta
You know what extrajudicial means right? It means "not legally authorized" So it's not part of the law. Every country on earth has extrajudicial killings. You have them in Indonesia too

This is the same stuff that happens in the Philippines.

All of that does not fall under "thought police" Thought police means it's a crime to express your thoughts. You cant do that in Indonesia, especially when it comes to religion.

I didnt say it's legal all over the world to sell rubbish. You need to read more carefully. I saw dumpster-diving happens all over the world. It happens even in rich countries. It happens in the US. You continually keep bringing this up like it's unique to the Philippines. You bring up extremes that dont even apply to the general population. I can tell you that 50% of people in Manila dont eat rubbish. But 50% of people in Jakarta dont have running water, and only 4% have sewage lines for their ****

And never once in either country did I see or experience someone trying to sell me sex due to poverty. That's a completely unfair accusation to make if you can't back it up.
Hi Bro,actually that's the difference between Jakarta and Manila. Jakarta has no beggars because there already banned. and for the Balinese they are not poor there are rarely poor people there and in Jakarta there are poor people but their life still looks better than Manila who is usually in front of eyes it looks so sad like eating trash food, sleeping on the roadside, under bridges, living in rickety houses, beggars

So Manila is special case in the world then for selling recycle rubbish food,.

Even 50% using drill water they drink better quality than worse quality pipe water
So Ahok used hate speech? Lol, you're crazy. You want to throw people in jail for everything. And even if it was "hate speech," it's not still worth throwing someone in jail. He didnt threaten to kill or harm anyone, so why put him in jail? He just hurt some peoples' feelings. You cant hurt peoples' feelings in Indonesia, or you'll go to jail.

The tap water in Manila is safe to drink, it doesnt have to be boiled first.
https://internationalwateranalysis.w...drink-for-now/
For foreigners, I wouldnt advise it because they have different immune systems, but for Filipinos its fine

The same cannot be said for Jakarta- "Study shows 76.2% of Jakarta’s tap water contains potentially dangerous microplastic contamination"
https://coconuts.co/jakarta/news/stu...contamination/

So even for the 50% of the population who has water, most of them dont even have clean water to drink.

"Only 29% of Indonesians have clean tap water"

You're talking about things that aren't even common in the Philippines. The average person in Manila DOESNT eat pagpag. But the average person in Jakarta DOESNT have running water.

Manila tap water is safe to drink; Jakarta tap water is not. So even the people in Jakarta who get tap water have bad water. Maybe the water that they drill is cleaner than Jakarta's tap water, so maybe thats why they drill. But you said drilling was illegal anyways, so what's your point? Now what to you want those people to do? Are they building them pipes so they can get water? Or do you just make drilling illegal and then provide no solution to bring them water
